About Growvember
Growvember began at American Cancer Fund with a clear purpose: Make November a month when any community can rally for every cancer type in one simple campaign.
This campaign aims to raise support for every cancer community, keep support moving after the month ends, and make it easy for teams to show progress and invite their friends, family, and community to grow for a great cause!
Raise support for all cancers in a simple campaign you can run on your own or with a group.
After years of running campaigns each fall, the American Cancer Fund created Growvember to bring support for all cancers under one banner.
The format is straightforward so participation doesn't require special tools. Individuals and teams can set a goal, share short updates, and link to early detection and screening resources on our site. The simplicity of the campaign not only creates support for all types of cancer, but it helps the effort reach beyond a single page and into everyday conversations.
What Grows When You Give?
Participants let their hair grow naturally throughout November, embracing what cancer patients often lose. Instead of spending money on grooming, participants donate those funds to organizations that provide resources for cancer patients and their families. You can also raise money by creating a fundraising page and asking friends and family to donate.
American Cancer Fund is a 501c3. Your gift may be tax deductible. You will receive an email receipt after you donate. Check with your tax advisor for details.
Click here to sign up as an individual or create a team to participate. Simply visit the sign-up page, complete the required form, and start raising funds for cancer education and support programs. You’ll receive instructions on how to customize your fundraising page and share it with your community.
Funds raised during Growvember support cancer education, prevention programs, and patient support services for those facing all types of cancers as well as their families.
There is no minimum donation or fundraising requirement. Every dollar counts, and whether you raise $5 or $500, your efforts will make a difference in the lives of cancer patients.
No worries! Growvember isn’t just about growing facial hair. You can skip any grooming routine, whether it’s shaving, waxing, or trimming, and still participate. The important part is spreading awareness and raising funds. You can also support others by donating or sharing their fundraising page.
Absolutely! Growvember is intended for everyone to raise support for all types of cancer. Women can participate by skipping their usual grooming routines or supporting the cause through donations and fundraising efforts. You can also encourage others to join!
We always recommend that you stay within your workplace rules. You can grow within your limits or choose a different visible goal. Your fundraising and updates still count!
If you have any questions or need help signing up, please reach out via email to scheldon@americancancerfund.org. We’re here to help you have a successful No-Shave November!
The campaign runs through the month of November, but the support you give lasts for years to come. You can set up your page any time and begin sharing right away. Sign Up Day is Friday, October 4.
